It took almost no occasion for her to woo enough members to become the presumed candidate after Joe Biden dropped out and supported Kamala Harris. Yet state delegation members in her native state disapprove of her choice, and they only unfavorably supported her.

According to the media, Kamala was portrayed as having a lot of unity and joy. But the members, who probably know her the best, apparently only held their faces and fell in line.

” She’s no our best member, but she’s gonna be the candidate”, one California Democrat member told Politico. The member also expressed disappointment that the selection process was n’t transparent for all individuals. ” There’s no point in not getting on board”.
After her director caved under pressure and left the contest on Sunday, the Democratic Party reacted in force. Democrats lost faith in Biden after his subpar conversation efficiency last month, saying he was defeat Democratic nominee and former president Donald Trump. California delegates overwhelmingly chose Harris to secure her nomination, pushing her over the threshold to become the Democratic nominee. The American electorate did not cast a second vote for the VP.
One Golden State Democrat told Politico,” This is kind of an excellent scenario for her.” ” She got past the primary, she has a united party, ]and ] she inherited a structure already built for her”.
We primarily want it to be accurate because we genuinely want to defeat Trump. And we do like her as a person and what she believes”, the Democrat added.
California political officials, Politico reported, are” trying to squelch” their fears about Harris’s “over-cautious intuition, periodic word sandwiches on the tree, and persistent team turmoil”.
Harris ran a failed campaign for president in 2020, ending up in second position in California, trailing Bernie Sanders, Biden, Elizabeth Warren, and Pete Buttigieg. More than 60 % of state voters at the time believed it would be preferable for her to suspend her plan and returning to Congress.

This does n’t sound like a unified party, does it? In reality, there is a dedicated campaign to discredit those who doubt her.
A group of elected officials, sponsors, labor leaders, and another powerbrokers now eager to profess their loyalty has always been a part of Harris ‘ long-standing supporters. But she has, for then, silenced the in-state naysayers who are deeply acquainted with her shortcomings as a member.
One former Democrat from the Bay Area said that conversations with additional political insiders have recently been about” Do we know to much” about her over-cautious intuition, regular expression salads on the tree and frequent team upheavals. Now, they’re trying to squelch their previous Harris skepticism.

Wining over the Democratic electorate is one thing, but winning over the electorate is another. It is too soon to tell whether California voters as a whole are forming in favor of Harris like the party is. The House could receive a smaller down ballot if Harris can sustain a wider home state boost.
Her allies are enjoying it while they wait to see if Harris ‘ ascent is more than just a temporary sugar high. One supporter expressed satisfaction in witnessing Pelosi, who, according to them, “never said anything particularly nice” about Harris, speak at a virtual state party meeting on Monday night and propose that convention delegates back Harris as the nominee.

So much for that whole unity narrative.
