After an attack attributed to Hezbollah that claimed the team killed civilians in the annexation of the Golan Heights, Lebanon’s top diplomat said a flurry of political activity is underway to include an anticipated Jewish response to the country.
After 12 children were killed by rocket fire from Lebanon on Sunday, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant declared his intention to “hit the army hard,” raising concerns that the conflict in Gaza may grow.
Israel has accused Lebanon’s Hezbollah action of firing a Falaq-1 Egyptian rocket, but the Iran-backed team– which has frequently targeted Jewish defense positions– said it had” no connection” to the incident.
In an appointment with regional broadcaster Al-Jadeed later on Sunday, Lebanese Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib claimed that France, France, and other countries were attempting to halt the increase.
Hezbollah will listen to Israel in a constrained manner and in a restricted way… These are the claims we’ve received”, Bou Habib said.
In a statement released on Sunday, Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati added that “talks are continuing with global, German, and Arab attributes to defend Lebanon and ward off problems.”
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu returned first from the United States after the rocket fire in Majdal Shams, whose population is made up of Arabic-speaking Druze.
On Sunday, the White House said the dangerous jet fireplace was” conducted by Syrian Hezbollah”.
According to National Security Council spokesperson Adrienne Watson, the US has been “in constant discussions” with Israel and Lebanon since the assault.
Since the Palestinian militant team’s October 7 assault on southern Israel sparked a battle in the Gaza Strip, Hezbollah has exchanged nearly daily cross-border blaze with Israel in support of Hamas.
It has reportedly evacuated roles in south and east Lebanon following Israeli threats of reprisals, according to a cause close to the organization.
The cross-border crime since October has killed at least 527 citizens in Lebanon, according to an AFP count, most of them soldiers but also including 104 citizens.
On the Israeli side, 22 troops and 24 residents have been killed, according to Israeli government.
