RFK Jr. May Have to Face Some Painful Realties About His Campaign

With Joe Biden out of the competition, lots of things have changed. While surveys indicate that Trump is still in the lead, the prospect is now closer because Democrats are apparently excited about the new solution. Kamala Harris is now the presumed candidate. But much of the narrower difference between Trump and Harris is due to Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. losing help. &nbsp,

In reality, according to Politico, Kennedy is in free fall.

” With Trump’s post-convention swing, Democrats ‘ member change and his own failures, separate member Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s numbers are dropping like a rock”, the outlet reported. ” In the New York Times/Siena surveys, Kennedy was at 5 percent, along from 8 percent right after the Biden-Trump conversation. He’s at 4 percent in the Wall Street Journal surveys, down from 7 percentage in the previous poll”.

According to Politico, despite getting on more votes, Kennedy then faces a new obstacle: earning 15 % in four qualifying elections between Aug. 1 and Sept. 3 to meet the ABC News argument on Sept. 10, a specific he’s far from reaching. Kennedy and other third-party candidates have targeted voters who despise both Biden and Trump, but this population is shrinking as a result of improved perceptions of Trump and Harris.

” One would think that any well-heeled, well-known independent or third party challenger should have been able to gain some momentum, and it almost seems that the Kennedy campaign went backwards during the post-debate coverage”, Christopher Thrasher, a ballot access attorney and political consultant who has advised numerous independent and third-party campaigns, told Politico.

A previous report revealed that Kennedy has been reportedly considering dropping out and backing Donald Trump and has been canceling campaign events.

Publicly, he still insists that he’s “in it to win it”.

I’m in it to win it. I have the most popular vote, and independents are now the largest voter group. As I close out on ballot access in all 50 states, momentum is shifting in my favor. At the upcoming debate, I anticipate challenging President Trump and the DNC nominee. # AmericaStrong 🇺 https ://t.co/PwbzPNrqIZ— Robert F. Kennedy Jr ( @RobertKennedyJr ) July 26, 2024

But with declining poll results, even he must realize that he is losing battle. According to sources, Trump and Kennedy have had several discussions recently, including an in-person meeting in Milwaukee during the Republican National Convention, according to reports from ABC News last week. The two candidates reportedly discussed potential roles for Kennedy in a upcoming Trump administration during these discussions. According to sources with knowledge of the situation, Trump might offer Kennedy the chance to lead the Health and Human Services department in a subsequent Trump administration.

Kennedy initially launched his presidential campaign as a Democrat, but after being accused of rigging the bipartisan primary by Democrats, he switched to an independent campaign in October. His running mate, Nicole Shanahan, stated to ABC News that she was aware of Kennedy’s recent discussions with Trump and supported them, stressing the need for cohesion and addressing corporate influence over organizations.

If Kennedy were to drop out and endorse Trump, it could significantly boost Trump’s campaign. However, Kennedy should continue to refute these reports of a potential alliance, which is arguably wise. If such talks did occur and are likely to happen, Kennedy likely would n’t drop out before the Democratic National Convention. Following the earlier this month assassination attempt, this alliance would undoubtedly benefit Trump because of its commitment to unity.
