Melinda French who parted ways with Bill Gates and the Foundation that she helped build has been at the receiving end for her endorsement of former Democratic candidate President Joe Biden. With a change in the candidate, Melinda now openly endorses vice president Kamal Harris and makes no bones about it. In an interview with the New York Times, she said she does not sit on the fence and always made it clear in which camp she is in.
” I knew there would be persons who were against it or do say”, She’s always in one station,” and that’s not true. The one thing I have always been is a pacifist. I have voted Democrat in some votes, I’ve voted Democrat in another, and I think that will be real going frontward”, Melinda said.
Elon Musk criticized Melinda’s support to the Democrats and wrote: “The Gates Foundation’s influence is not a reason to have less scrutiny. If anything, it needs more scrutiny.” Elon Musk also said this might be the downfall of western civilization.
Melinda took on Elon and said:” I’ve just watched over the years it officials interviewed about their parenting type, a man who has spent, you know, 60 hours at his firm that year, and I’m sure he’s a great C. E. O. and has done a great job — maybe or maybe not — in their business. But then they get asked about parenting, and they spew all this stuff, and you think, Something does n’t add up here. But I simply — some of these responses to me are just kind of ridiculous.
When asked about the generational change among businessman businessmen, Melinda once more attacked Elon Musk, Bill and Warren being in one, and Elon, Jack Dorsey, Bull Ackman, and Peter Thiel being in the more recent one.
” Well, you just mentioned some underprivileged people who have n’t yet been very charitable. They use their words and they use their megaphones, but I would never call those people philanthropists”, Melinda said. But take a look at their track record of actually helping world. It’s not big .]Laughs. ] So you put Bill and me and Warren in a class of philanthropists doing things in a certain way, but I do n’t think you can then say,” OK, well, let’s compare to this group over here who are nonphilanthropists”. Those are nonphilanthropists, in my opinion. ” Melinda said.
