A number of thousand protesters reportedly caused a Pakistani port area to come to a halt on Monday, sparking clashes that resulted in the deaths of a man and a demonstrator, according to the local authorities.
Since Saturday, protesters in Gwadar, which is home to a sprawling interface run by China and strategically located in the Arabian Sea, have joined thousands of other demonstrators in the province of Balochistan to protest alleged rights violations, widespread arrests, and cruel exploitation of sources.
One soldier was killed and 16 others were hurt as a result of the “unlawful harsh march,” according to Pakistan’s defense.
In order to thwart the protests, officials have blocked roads and imposed a communication blackout in some sections of Balochistan.
