
A vehicle crash at the Twentynine Palms teaching facility in California over the weekend left a U.S. Marine dead on Sunday due to injuries sustained there.
A Marine assigned to the Tactical Training Exercise Control Group passed away today, July 28, 2024, according to a press release from the Marine Air-Ground Task Force ( MAGTF ) Training Command and Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center at 29 Palms on Facebook. On July 27, 2024, he was involved in a vehicle at the Marine Corps Air-Ground Combat Center while driving a high-mobility, multi-purpose turned car.
The Sea was treated for his wounds at the Robert E. Bush Naval Hospital before being biologically evacuated and transported to the Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, California, according to the media transfer. The Marine was taken to the Desert Regional Medical Center on Sunday and later declared dead.
According to the media transfer, Saturday’s vehicle incident took place during Service Level Training Exercise 5-24. Additionally, the media release stated that no other Marines were hurt in the event.

According to a government watchdog statement from 2021, 123 Marines and soldiers have died in non-combat car accidents since 2011.
