The Palestinian territory is a “polio illness area,” according to the Hamas-run Gaza health ministry, which accuses Israel’s government of destroying the country’s healthcare system and causing the virus to recur.

Recently, according to UN organizations, samples taken from wastewater samples had been found to contain type-2 poliovirus from vaccines.
