    Woman dealing with ‘mental health crisis’ shot by police after 911 call

    According to the New York Times, the attorney general of New Jersey has opened an investigation into the death of a Fort Lee girl who was fatally shot while responding to a 911 call about a emotional health problems over the weekend.
    A person called 911 to report that his girlfriend was using a razor while she was having a mental health problems at the time of the event. Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin released a statement claiming that Fort Lee police officers were soon after 1.25 am at the Pinnacle house advanced at 69 Main Street.
    One of the officials spoke with the visitor in the corridor before opening the house door, where he encountered two women in, when he arrived. The girls, who has not been officially identified, requested that the official left and closed the door. The agent then waited for other officials to reach inside, knocking and asking the people to open the door.
    When officers broke into the doorway, the situation quickly escalated. The caller’s girl approached the officers in the doorway, according to the speech, and one officer shot her in the torso. She was treated for health issues at the image and later transported to Englewood clinic, where she was later declared dead.
    A weapon was recovered from the field by authorities. The precise circumstances that led to the firing are still undetermined.
    Following a 911 contact about a mental health problems, the authorities in Illinois also murdered Sonya Massey on July 6. The new dangerous filming has sparked protests and outcry in the community.
    The Arrive Along initiative in New Jersey, which works with mental health professionals to handle problems calls, was not operational at the time. The program has handled over 4, 000 contacts since its inception and is spread across all 21 New Jersey regions.
    Paula Rogovin, 76, co-founder of Teaneck Peace and Justice Vigil, expressed her anger with the officers response. ” It is just wrong”, she said. ” It has to stop”. Rogovin called for an end to such tragedies and emphasized the availability of local education on mental health problems answer.
    The attorney general’s office has yet to give more information on the research.
