
After a fatal listeria disease outbreak spread, killing two people and infecting 32 others, a significant food product recall was ordered.
A Tuesday press release by the U. S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service ( FSIS ) stated,” Boar’s Head Provisions Co., Inc., a Jarratt, Va., establishment, is expanding its July 26, 2024, recall of deli meat products that may be adulterated with Listeria monocytogenes”.
In addition to the above 207 000 weight of deli meat that was recalled next year, Boar’s Head Provisions was recalling almost 7 million additional pounds of meat and poultry products, according to the press release on Tuesday.
According to NBC News, 34 persons had been confirmed tired as of Tuesday. The outlet reported that the listeria disease outbreak has spread across 13 says, caused 33 illnesses, and resulted in two incidents. The FSIS, the CDC, and state public health organizations are now looking into the listeria epidemic.

According to The Daily Mail, the listeria germs can spread from one place to another, prompting health officials to urge people to properly clean kitchen surfaces to stop the epidemic from spreading.
According to the CDC, about 260 people per year pass away from the bacteria infection and around 1,600 are infected with listeriosis. Consuming cafe meat and unpasteurized dairy that are not properly processed is the main way that people become bacteria-infected.
