Former US president Donald Trump made inaccurate remarks about vice president Kamala Harris in a recent appearance before the National Association of Black Journalists ( NABJ) in Chicago, posing questions about her race and background. Trump claimed that Harris had just just begun identifying as Black, implying that she had formerly just promoted her American history. These assertions disregard well-known facts about Harris’s background and public life and are technically incorrect.
    Harris’s traditions and personality
Both of Kamala Harris ‘ parents, who were immigrants to the United States, are American and Reggae. Harris has boldly accepted both aspects of her lineage throughout her political job. As an undergraduate, she attended Howard University, a historically Black school, and was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha, a previously Black college. She has persistently supported legislation that advances the Black community and has actively participated in the Congressional Black Caucus.
Trump’s style of racially charged condemnation
Trump has previously questioned the democratic party’s ability to identify or treat a person of color. His remarks at the NABJ celebration follow a history of racist attacks, including those that targeted original U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley and those that targeted the “birther” plot against President Barack Obama.
Trump’s disputed statements about multiculturalism and the business
Trump also made a second, unsupported claim that Black Americans are being taken off the streets by illegal immigrants during the event, which economists and fact-checkers have frequently refuted. Additionally, he made contentious similarities between the January 6th Capitol riot and another protests, which were criticized by both the audience and editors.
    Reply to Trump’s comment
Trump’s discussion turned angry as he criticized the system for its protection and accused ABC News columnist Rachel Scott of being “nasty” during the event. Michael Tyler, communications director for Harris’s plan, condemned Trump’s comments as contentious and out of contact with the challenges of Black Americans.
