Elon Musk and his social internet business X were sued by former CNN host Don Lemon on Thursday, alleging he tricked him into believing they were a business partner and that he was never compensated for his efforts.

Lemon, who was fired from CNN last month, intended to resurrect his career by launching a podcast on X through what the Screen news host claimed to be a profitable business offer made in January.

The one-year offer would give Juice$ 1.5 million with other financial incentives for making X the unique home of” The Don Lemon Show” for 24 hours after each instance debuted, according to Lemon’s complaint. According to the lawsuit, he also would receive extra funds if he met specific performance standards as well as a portion of the program’s advertising revenue. In returning, Lemon would own the information he created for the present.

According to Lemon, there was no contract signed because Musk claimed in his lawsuit that they did n’t need to sign a formal written contract or “fill out paperwork.” According to the lawsuit, Levin likewise received assurances that Musk may still be able to handle his articles.

Musk’s lawyer did not respond to a request for comment right away.

Lemon claimed that X asked him to speak with X CEO Linda Yaccarino about the relationship and meet with potential advertisers as part of the agreement. X previously hosted the Consumer Electronics Show, a big tech gathering in Las Vegas. At the time, X was &nbsp, struggling to increase its advertising&nbsp, firm and cooperating with Lemon may help provide more security to the software after it was &nbsp, acquired by Musk&nbsp, in 2022, according to Lemon’s complaint.

X, previously known as Twitter, also promoted Lemon’s display and agreement on its platform.

But after Lemon had spent considerable money and effort on preparing his plan for X, the social media firm &nbsp, pulled out of the offer in March&nbsp, after Lemon’s first show, an appointment with Musk, was not to the SpaceX and Tesla banker’s liking. The lawsuit claimed that Lemon’s agent afterwards informed him that the contract had been canceled, and that an X representative had informed him that there had not been a authorized agreement.

According to the lawsuit, Lemon has not received compensation for his work because” Plaintiffs intentionally misrepresented what they intended to perform.” ” ]Musk and X ] knew that if they accurately represented to Lemon that the purpose and meaning of the exclusive partnership deal was to use Lemon’s name, likeness, reputation, and identity to rehabilitate]their ] reputation and draw in advertisers to the X platform, Lemon would never had agreed to do what he did”.
