
A senior leader of Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf group, which has been imprisoned, was shot dead as he left a minaret after offering Friday prayers, according to police in Lahore.
When four unexplained men opened fire on Dr. Shahid Saddique Khan as he departed from a dome in Valancia Town in Lahore and fled on two riders, they opened fire on him. A Lahore authorities director told PTI that he was moved to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The Lahore authorities chief has set up a special team to look into the incident, according to the director.
Khan was the original data secretary for PTI’s Punjab chapter and the owner of a private clinic.
The Lahore officers should immediately make an arrest, according to IGP Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar.
Since the May 9, 2023 protests, when group staff attacked the position and military installations following Khan’s arrest in an alleged corruption case, the PTI and the establishment have been at odds with one another.
