When a person broke into her San Francisco house on October 28, 2022 and struck her father, Paul Pelosi, with a hammer, American politician and former White House speaker Nancy Pelosi addressed the pain of the attack.
In order to save his life, doctors had to have a portion of his bones removed. Pelosi mentioned that doctors advise against reliving thetraumatic experience, and that she and her partner have never discussed it. Pelosi feels guilty about the incident, and the perpetrator was attempting to kill her.
She recalls her daughter suggesting to her to stop working in politics after the attack in her book” The Art of Power,” but Pelosi reflects on how her family has handled some Republican Party demons, according to CBS News.
” My husband and I have always talked about this”, Pelosi said. Because they do n’t want him to go back to it, the doctors have backed that. ” He was looking for me”, she added. ” Imagine the guilt of all of that – it’s only a hideous thing”.
Pelosi’s child, Alexandra Pelosi, urged her mother to keep people living after the invasion. In her guide, Pelosi gives a second look at this and discusses the mother’s view of who is to blame. ” Well, I blame me. I mean, no chastise me. I was the goal. My family, simply, blames certain components of the Republican Party who had been demonizing me for about 20 years, every vote and the rest – cloven feet, horns on the head, a terrible man, in flames, a dragon, and all of that. The fact that they only made fun of it made me feel sad about my husband’s rape. They thought it was funny. And folks laughed. So ,]Trump ] was an instigator of violence and then made light of it”.
Pelosi addressed rumours that he had been pressuring President Joe Biden to resign from his re-election promotion in an interview with CBS News Correspondent. She denied leading any for work, expressing confidence in Biden’s ability to make the right choice.
” Well, I’ve never shared any conversations with a President of the United States publicly, no”, Pelosi replied. When Biden inquired about her alleged fury, she replied,” Well, he knows that I love him very much.” ” No, I was n’t a leader of any pressure party. Well, let me say things that I did n’t do. I did n’t call one person. I did not visit one man. I could generally state to him,’ I always called anybody.’ I said that because I believed the senator did make the right decision for our nation, whatever that might be, and I was confident in that decision. Whatever that is, we’ll come with.'”
When asked about Biden’s efficiency, Pelosi emphasized the importance of a more aggressive campaign and highlighted his contributions, such as leading the Nato Summit. ” My whole place was, whatever he decides, but we have to have a more aggressive plan”. Pelosi said,” He was in a great position to make whatever decision he had to make,” “at the top of his game.” A Mount Rushmore-style version of President of the United States, in your opinion.
Pelosi’s legacy as a leader in Congress spans 20 years, and she looks back on pivotal moments in her new book,” The Art of Power”. I had a significant part in some historical events, he said. Therefore, I wanted to write about that only to present my side of it, what happened in the room where it happened, where I was”, she said.
Pelosi outlined significant events, including the Capitol attack on January 6 and the economic loan, Covid relief, and the Affordable Care Act. She vividly remembers hearing the crowd targeting her during the insurrection and saying,” Nancy, we’re coming for you, b****”.
The President of the United States initiated an uprising. He then tries to distance himself from it, blaming both himself and everyone else. But that’s the manner he is. This was instigated by him”, said Pelosi.
She even recalled her eagerness to fight Trump by expressing her surprise at his statement that he should march to the Capitol. ” If he comes, I’m gonna punch him out for intruding on the Capitol premises. I’m gonna blow him up, and I’m gonna go to prison, and I’m going to get happy”. ” I knew that I would have to pay a cost, to go to jail”, Pelosi said,” but I would be happy to do that”.
Donald Trump is viewed as a motivation for Democratic organizations and fundraising, and Pelosi is still determined to stop him from regaining control of the White House. ” He should never set foot again in the White House – never should have, and should n’t again”.
When asked about Trump’s selection of Ohio Senator JD Vance as his running partner, Pelosi responded with joy. ” I think it was a great choice”!
Kamala Harris received additional counsel from Pelosi regarding how to approach Trump’s battle. She said,” Only become yourself. It’s the same tips I give to people – become yourself”.
She finally dismissed attempts to portray Harris severely, suggesting a emphasis on common issues. The Trump family, he and JD Vance, are trying to make Kamala Harris seem “unclear’,” according to the criticism. ‘ She’s a dramatic, left-wing, San Francisco crazy woman. She’s strange and she’s beans.'” ” Well, the thing is, there’s no question that they understand I make people laugh at them. And that’s what they do n’t like, is to be laughed at. On the other hand, what I have always said about Trump and now – I do n’t know that much about Vance, but what we do know is menacing”. ” So, what does Harris claim? Just chat about kitchen-table problems – reject him”, said Pelosi.
Though no longer in House authority, Pelosi is running for re-election to her Parliamentary seat from San Francisco. On being asked if she had ever been asked to run for President, Pelosi said,” I have n’t been asked, but I was encouraged to put my name in there sometime for vice president. I said,’ Why do I want to be evil president?’ I’m a senator. I love legislative. It’s major work, people must know. I mean, you really have to talk. What view do you make regarding the best interests? What approach do you use to accomplish it? It’s regular. It’s regular. And it’s being polite of all kinds of points of view – inside maneuvering, inside participation. It’s wonderful. I love being a senator”.
