    Gas prices: More decreases at the pumps to end the weekend

    Oil prices continued to decline over the weekend, easing some of the fiscal strain experienced by drivers since Joe Biden became president.

    On Sunday, the average price for a gallon of regular gas in the country was$ 3.474, according to AAA. For a gallon of regular gas, this price decreased slightly from Saturday, which was$ 3. 478. On Sunday, gas prices were lower than they were a week ago, when gas was typically priced at$ 3. 505. Prices are also less expensive than they were a month ago, when regular gas was typically priced at$ 3.515.

    Oil prices remain an important topic heading into the 2024 presidential election. With President Joe Biden deciding not to seek election, Vice President Kamala Harris, then the likely Democratic candidate, will have to show how she will handle the government’s high fuel prices and energy costs and how both affect the economy and people’s finances.

    Costs fluctuated in 2024, but they have decreased over the past few weeks and months. However, gas prices remain substantially higher than when past President Donald Trump was in business.

    The average price for a gallon of regular gas in the nation’s capital on Sunday was $3.688. This was a decrease from Saturday, when the cost was $3.693. Regular gas is less expensive in Washington, D. C. than a week ago when the average price was $3.712 per gallon. Prices are also less expensive now than a month ago when drivers in the district paid $3.711 per gallon.

    Virginia

    In Virginia, the average cost for a gallon of regular-grade oil was$ 3.32 to finish the trip. This decreased from Saturday’s average price of$ 3.328 per gallon. Gasoline prices are also less costly in the position than a week ago when regular-grade fuel was$ 3.386 per gallon. Prices for a gallon of regular are also lower now than they were a month ago, when the price was$ 3.383.

    Maryland

    On Sunday in Maryland, the average cost for a gallon of regular gasoline was$ 3.399. This is a lower from the previous low of$ 3.41 per gallon on Saturday.
