According to reports from the Arab Emergency Response Agency in the Gaza Strip and Palestinian reports outlets, an Jewish airstrike on a shelter school in Gaza City on Sunday left at least 30 people dead and several others injured. In the last four times, there has been a second strike on a school.
The majority of the patients were women and children, according to Mahmoud Basal, a Palestinian Civil Defense director. At least 14 people are still buried beneath the dust at a class called Hassan Salame, according to him when an F-16 warrior aircraft struck it. The neighbors school, known as Nasser, was also affected by shrapnel and debris, according to a statement from New York Post.
The Israeli army said that it had targeted “terrorists” in” Hamas command and control areas” located at the Hassan Salame and Nasser institutions. It claimed to have taken “numerous actions to mitigate the risk of killing civilians” before the attack, including the use of efficiency munitions, security, and intellect, although it did not give specific details on how it had done so.
Similar displays occurred on Saturday at Hamama School, where Basal reported 17 deaths due to an assault, and on Thursday at Dalal al-Mughrabi School, where a attack claimed 15 life, according to Basal.
The war had transformed classrooms and hallways into packed temporary shelters for Gaza people who were forced to leave their homes at the time.
Following each hit, videos on social media depicted burning buildings, people screaming or running in shock and confusion, and some lying motionless on the ground.
Israel’s military claimed in a statement on Sunday that Hamas embeds itself among residents to act as mortal weapons, a typical defense in the wake of the country’s high death toll. Even if Hamas exploits civilians, as Israel claims to do, according to international rules experts, Israel also has a duty to defend them.
Most of Gaza’s schools have been used as homes for thousands of displaced people since the conflict started on October 7, when Hamas carried out a dangerous assault on Israel. Israeli government has repeatedly bombed schools in Gaza or targeted nearby areas, frequently claiming that Hamas was using the structures. The party denies these promises.
