Israel’s foreign secretary Israel Katz on Tuesday called on to” soon remove” Yahya Sinwar, who was recently named as Hamas ‘ new political leader.
Sinwar’s visit follows the demise of Ismail Haniyeh, who was killed in Tehran the past year.
Katz called Sinwar an “arch-terrorist” and claimed that Hamas ‘ leader’s choice “is still another compelling reason to immediately remove him and clean this vile organization off the face of the Earth.”
The international leader’s speech reflects the continued tension between Israel and Hamas, as well as the Jewish government’s approach on the Palestinian militant team.
Yahya Sinwar, the recently appointed social innovator of Hamas and a vital figure in the organization’s assault on Israel on October 7, has long been regarded as one of the most prominent members.
He has exerted significant impact despite remaining mostly submerged beneath the Gaza Strip. His appointment as Hamas ‘ major political leader on Tuesday strengthens his standing within the organization.
In the years following the state of Israel’s establishment, hundreds of thousands of Israeli Arabs were displaced or forced to leave their homes. He made the difficult choice to add Hamas in the 1980s because of this movement.
Sheik Ahmed Yassin, the organization’s leader, hired Sinwar and made him the head of the Al Majd inner protection unit. His duty was to track down and punish those who had allegedly harmed Jewish occupants or had collaborated with them. In the end, his confrontation with Israeli officials resulted from this part.
