    OpenPhone Review (2024): Is It Right for Your Business?

    OpenPhone shines for its endless communication, shared culture and built-in email management for smaller teams. It was the VoIP phone system that my team finally chose because it was simple to set up, inexpensive, and had sufficient functionality without having to purchase any additional hardware.

    Nevertheless, it’s missing a lot of common features you’ll get somewhere and it’s not particularly tremendous at scale.

    OpenPhone’s sales is very straightforward. There are three plans to choose from, with just a couple of miscellaneous fees and add-ons.

      Starter: Starts at$ 15 per user per month.

    • Business: Begin at$ 23 per person per quarter.

    The Business level offers a 30 % refund and the Starter level offers a 21 % discount, according to monthly billing. Month-to-month sales is even available, and you can consider OpenPhone for free with a seven-day test.

    My staff uses the Business program, while slightly more expensive, it gives you what you need to handle calls as a business. Beyond the fundamentals, you’ll also find programmed phone recording, AI-generated contact summaries and interfaces for HubSpot and Salesforce.

    If you want to use business texting, there’s an industry-wide$ 19 one-time setup fee and an ongoing monthly messaging fee ranging from just$ 1.50 to$ 3.

    This is n’t unique to OpenPhone because every provider either charges or bundles them into the monthly fee you pay.

    Additional phone numbers cost$ 5 per month, and Zapier allows you to set up automated messages for$ 0.01 per text sent. Use and use are based on country-specific usage and call and messaging.

    OpenPhone’s essential features

    While most of OpenPhone’s functions are very simple, it’s a good system with some noteworthy standouts. You’ll gain from infinite calling, endless messaging, shared phone numbers, email management tools and even a couple of AI-powered abilities.

    Unlimited calling and messaging

    Within the United States and Canada, OpenPhone offers unrestricted asking and text messaging. This amount is reasonably reasonable for the money.

    Shared telephone numbers

    Sharing a phone number with a group may sound crazy, but it’s really really useful for OpenPhone’s communication skills.

    You can permit OpenPhone’s built-in AI to quickly generate two or three answers to every inbound information. Within moments of receiving a word, your team can quickly click a relevant reply, which is a really nice feature that increases productivity.

    If you’re on a Business program or higher, you’ll find AI-generated reports and complete records for every visit.

    Without having to listen through the entire recording, this is a quick way to recall what occurred during a longer visit.

    Additionally, it keeps you on the call line. You can take information knowing AI is taking information for you rather than half-listening to what someone else is saying.

    Without getting too thoroughly briefed, groups may share these summaries with people who have called or missed meetings.

    Nextiva is a more well-rounded company contacts answer. It comes with everything you need to talk to clients and each other, including group chat, video conference, tone, texting and emailing.     If you handle a lot of international calls, 8×8 ca n’t be beat. With programs that allow for unlimited calling to 14 or 48 states, it’s a much better bargain for high-volume than paying per second.     Dialpad

    Dialpad and OpenPhone are both newer cloud-first telephone systems. Dialpad offers more advanced AI functions and call center and selling team features, whereas OpenPhone is straightforward. It has standard telephone systems, too, but they include more conversation channels than OpenPhone.

    Methodology

    I compared and researched OpenPhone using the same fundamental standards as other business contact options:

      Standard and advanced functions: We assess the principles you need, plus the innovative features that enhance your performance. Some of the common characteristics we look for include video conference, SMS/MMS messaging, voicemail, automated call forwarding, system spinning and mobile/desktop programs.

    • Customer support: How can you get support, and what are the support hours? We also examine the platform’s customer support’s level of service and take note of any positive comments.
    • Third-party integrations: The best phone systems seamlessly sync with third-party business apps, like CRMs, ERP software, faxing tools, SMS platforms, cloud storage systems and more.
    • Security and privacy: We look at the redundancy architecture, advanced encryption standards, authentication options, advanced management options, data center audits, server locations — anything that’s tied to keeping your calls safe and data secure.
    • Uptime percentage: Anything that could cause unplanned downtime, outages, service interruptions or lead to delays due to the technical setup or platform infrastructure.
    • Can you test or try the platform before purchasing it through a demo or free trial?
    • Overall cost: Fees, plan options, pricing differences between monthly or annual billing, installation fees, cost per user, etc.
