Gov. After Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential candidate, chose the Minnesotan as her running mate, Tim Walz’s (D-MN) report on immigration has come under scrutiny.
After being first tasked with addressing the root causes of the border crisis in her first year as vice president, Harris is prone on immigration. Only then did illegal immigration rates reach historical highs during her tenure.
Her choice of a Democrat with a track record of implementing liberal immigration policies could help her in her fight with former president Donald Trump in November, giving both independents and Democrats pause.
Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ), a moderate candidate, and Walz defeated its opponent’s program to end Title 42, a border legislation that allowed unlawful immigrants to get returned to Mexico, who had fought with the White House in recent years.
Walz has been in public office for nearly 20 years and has since veered further to the left in favor of guidelines that help illegal immigrants. He actually recently reappeared in a video that showed him investing in ladders that could enable Mexican immigrants to cross the border wall.
” I often say,’ Let me know how great it is.’ If it’s 25 foot, then I’ll invest in a 30-foot-ladder shop. That’s not how you stop this”, Walz said.
Harris tapped the two-term government Tuesday night. The veteran-turned-congressman has a record of advancing liberal , immigration , policies, a , best matter , on citizens ‘ thoughts heading into November.
Waltz, a presidential candidate for the 2018 election, said he supported making Minnesota a” sanctuary” state, a term used to describe local and state governments that refuse to cooperate with federal immigration officials.
According to Walz, “my place on Minnesota becoming a temple state boils down to who has the responsibility to enforce immigration regulations.”
Since becoming chancellor in 2019, Walz has signed a number of state charges into rules. Under his management, Minnesota’s North Star Promise plan, which provides free college education to illegal immigrants, approved in 2023.
The condition also allowed all citizens to participate in its officially subsidized health insurance plan, MinnesotaCare, regardless of immigration standing. At the time the law was passed last year, almost 40, 000 illegal immigrants from the position were eligible to enroll, according to the Minnesota Reformer, a local news channel.
Earlier in 2023, Walz signed into law a bill that may help all people to apply for a pilot’s license, including up to 81, 000 people without lasting legal standing.
All of the state bills are commonplace in that most Democrat-governed states have passed these measures, while more progressive states, such as California and New York, have gone further.
Walz is a former six-term congressman who served from 2007 to 2019 before becoming governor. Along the Iowa border, he represented a sizable, largely rural portion of southern Minnesota.
Walz trained in heavy artillery while serving in the Army National Guard for 24 years. Before moving into politics, he retired and began teaching social studies at a nearby school.
Republicans quickly criticized Walz for his immigration history and immediately posted statements online.

The Trump War Room account posted on X, which included a clip from a Walz interview on CNN, states that” Tim Walz wants to invest in a “ladder factory” to aid illegal immigrants scaling the border wall. ” Walz supports sanctuary cities, driver’s licenses for illegals, free college for illegals, free health care for illegals, and so much more. Just like Kamala”.
Former GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley called the Harris-Walz ticket” a win for open borders, socialism, and Iran”.

Rep. Brian Mast (R-FL ) argued that Walz would withhold illegal immigrants entering the country after being deported from the United States.
