WOW: Josh Shapiro Backed Out of the Kamala Veepstakes at the Last Minute

Kamala Harris appeared to be about to pick Governor as recently as last year. Josh Shapiro (D-Pa. ) as her running mate. He was the clear favorite in the betting conflict despite the widespread consensus that Kamala needed a “moderate” swing state Democrat to support her gain 270 electoral votes.

Even after a fellow Democrat alleging him to have covered up abuse at his job, Shapiro’s prospects remained higher. The sexual harassment cover-up did n’t take Shapiro out of contention, and neither did another cover-up — this one involving murder.

In 2011, 27-year-old Ellen Greenberg, a first-grade professor, was found dead in the room she shared with her fiancé, Sam Goldberg. Her body was discovered on the house floor, where she had 20 stabs and axe wounds, quarter of which were in the neck and head’s again. She had a weapon in her breasts and 20 stabs in her head. First, Philadelphia Assistant Medical Examiner Marlon Osbourne ruled her death a crime. But, after police officially challenged this finding, Osbourne changed the decision to death without explanation. &nbsp,

When the situation came to his desk in 2019, then-Pennsylvania attorney general Shapiro backed the death verdict, and many people now speculate about his association with the fiancé’s family. For his part, Shapiro appeared to be constantly vying for the position, going so far as torment his principles and faith to make himself more appealing to the Democratic Party’s democratic, antisemitic wing.

Take a look at this Politico report ( the original’s emphasis ):

Why no Shapiro? &nbsp, By comparison, Pennsylvania Gov. His team felt that Harris ‘ meeting with Josh Piiro did not go as smoothly as it could have. There was” not a great feeling” coming out of it, according to a person in touch with Shapiro’s advisers. After their conference on Sunday, Shapiro called Harris ‘ group and stated that he was” struggling with the decision to leave his present position as governor in order to get the vice presidency,” according to a source with knowledge of the collection process.

Does anyone think Shapiro was” struggling with the decision to leave his present position as government”? Of course, he was n’t. After the awful jobs report released on Friday and the following stock market crash that followed, Shapiro seems to have realized that the risk of joining the Harris solution was to high.

In other words, he dropped away.

Shapiro may had gotten himself out of the woods around the same time that Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D-Mich. ) and Gov. Roy Cooper (D-N. C. ) did. Because it’s common to go on a chance to become vice president, Cooper claimed he wants to run for the Senate in 2026. Like Cooper, Shapiro, who evidently wanted the job, probably read the tea leaf and bailed.

He probably made the wise choice because he allowed himself to choose his own way without being tied to Harris. In a bounce state with ties to her extreme agenda, he’ll probably get a second term as governor, which will make it much easier for him to win bipartisan support.
