Since stepping down as the Democrat nomination on July 21, President Joe Biden’s approval rating has increased.
In the past year, Biden experienced some of the lowest national approval ratings in history, breaking a precedent set by one of the primary polls conducted since he left. In an NPR-PBS News-Marist National Poll released on Tuesday, Biden’s approval rating reached 46 %, his highest in more than a year.
His approval rating was 43 % in the most recent Marist poll conducted while he was still in office, compared to 43 % in other polls.
A , Reuters-Ipsos , poll , released in May found that just 36 % of people approved of Biden’s job as president, tying his record-low performance rating in July 2022.
Democrats have criticized Biden’s decision to withdraw as a result of his sincere support for the greater good, which appears to have had a positive impact on some electorates.

After stepping down as the Democratic nomination, Biden has been fairly quiet, with media interest moving to his son. He is due to split this self-imposed captivity immediately to plan for Vice President Kamala Harris in swing states, such as Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin, according to a Politico report.
The NPR-PBS News-Marist National Poll was conducted from Aug. 1 through Aug. 4, surveying 1, 513 citizens. The margin of error was plus or minus 3.4 items.
