Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris took a measured approach to chants of “lock him up” during a campaign rally in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, on Wednesday. The chant, echoing similar calls against former President Donald Trump, emerged as Harris addressed her record as a prosecutor.
As she detailed her encounter prosecuting thieves, a common song started among the group: “lock him up”. In response, Harris interrupted her speech, raising her hand and saying,” Well, hold on. You are aware of how the judges will solve that aspect. What we’re gonna do is overcome him in November”.
Harris ‘ resumption of her campaign information was met with cheers and applause.
Harris attempted to control a recurring chant “lock him up” that is heard at her promotion activities. This stop, a spin on the “lock her off” slogans aimed at Hillary Clinton during the 2016 election, has gained momentum amid ongoing legal troubles facing Trump.
Donald Trump was found guilty in May of concealing bills made during his 2016 campaign to dispel allegations of illicit matters. He faces up to four years in captivity, though a lighter sentence is expected. Trump’s legal issues go beyond this one case, adding to the complexity of his post-presidential controversies. They include continuous inquiries into alleged vote interference and mishandling of classified documents at Mar-a-Lago.
