A Portuguese man was able to escape death after a Brazilian airline employee refused to let him table a passenger aircraft that eventually crashed, killing 61 people.
Adriano Assis arrived later at the boarding wall for his Voepass journey from Cascavel to Guarulhos, according to Portuguese news outlet TV Globo. An airport employee denied him boarding, despite his claims.
” Usually, there is always someone at the airport shop, but there was no one”, Assis said. ” At that point, I argued with him and thus on, and that was it. And he saved my life”.
According to the aircraft present, Assis was the 58th rider who did not table. Assis contacted the flight worker and gave him a hug after learning of the collision.
He performed his duties, so I gave him a hug. If he had n’t done his job, maybe I would n’t be doing this interview today”, Assis said, his voice trembling with emotion. ” I spoke out of anger, but this chap— I do n’t even know his name—really saved my life”.
The ATR-72 plane, operated by Voepass Linhas Aéreas, was en road from Cascavel in Paraná to Guarulhos in São Paulo, as reported by the business G1, citing data from Voepass.
Images aired by Brazil’s Television GloboNews showed a significant place engulfed in flames, with dust billowing from what appeared to be the jet’s aircraft. The aeroplane was later videoed crashing before it began to spiral upward.
