The late soul legend Isaac Hayes ‘ family is suing the Republican nominee for president and former US President Donald Trump for illegally utilizing the song” Hold On ( I’m Coming )” at his rallies. Following numerous attempts to prevent Trump from playing the popular music at his promotion activities, the lawsuit comes.
Isaac Hayes III posted a complaint on Facebook after it was revealed that Trump had been accused of prejudice and disrespect for women.
With his bigoted rhetoric and disrespect for women, he claimed,” Donald Trump represents the worst in morality and course.”
Isaac Hayes III, brother of Isaac Hayes, announced the legitimate action on Sunday, stating,” We the household of Isaac Hayes Enterprises, represented by Walker &amp, Associates, are suing Donald Trump and his campaign for 134 counts of copyright infringement for the illegal use of the song ‘ Keep On I’m Coming’ at campaign rallies from 2022-2024″.
The Hayes family’s attorney, James Walker Jr., told the Daily Beast that Trump needs “five time to pay or we will proceed with constitutional action.” He noted that the Trump plan has no responded despite receiving several demands over the past two decades. ” The household keeps asking him not to play the music”, Walker Jr said. ” They do n’t want people to think he’s endorsing Trump. They oppose the theft of their music.
The lawsuit demands that Trump stop using the song, remove all relevant movies, issue a public statement, and spend$ 3 million in licence fees by August 16, 2024. ” Failure to comply will result in more legal motion”, Isaac Hayes III added.
Walker Jr emphasised the mother’s fears about the illicit use of the song, saying,” They care about the music being played in front of thousands of people… without any agreement, he may become paying this family considerable money to play his music”. Additionally, he mentioned that takedown notices will be issued on platforms like YouTube if the Trump campaign does n’t comply.
The Hayes family’s lawsuit and claims have not been publicly addressed by the Trump campaign as of yet.
