If the law ministry requests, the interim Bangladeshi government has stated that it will take steps to get former prime minister Sheikh Hasina again after he fled the nation after deadly quota protests.
Foreign affairs adviser Md Touhid Hossain made the statement on Sunday during his first press briefing at the foreign ministry, according to a report from Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha ( BSS).
Nobel prize Mohammed Yunus, the interval administration, wore the oath last week.
Hossain also addressed Dhaka-Delhi relations saying,” It is important that people feel India is a good friend of Bangladesh… we want that, we want to advance the ( Dhaka-Delhi ) relation towards that’s direction… we would like to see India will cooperate us in this regard”.
Sheikh Hasina is now residing in India, where she has accused the United States of being a part of her ouster.
Talking about the government’s approach to international relations, Hossain said,” Our plan is to maintain good relations with all nations while protecting our national interests. We aim to have a balanced relationship by seeking companionship from everyone and avoiding none, while maintaining a sense of balance. Our main task is to prevent our passions”.
It makes no sense to assume that this interval government is only focused on a particular way. We want to keep things simple and good, he said, “including China and India.”
Hossain also made an implication about the country’s potential for public elections, stating that “our main goal is to do a fair and impartial election.” Speculation at this point is superfluous”.
