Indian American Impact, a group established in 2016 to mobilize South Asians and Indian Americans in American public life and politics, is working tirelessly to win Kamala Harris ‘ help.
” Impact has been working to increase political engagement and wedding in social issues of Indian Americans and South Asians as well as greater picture of community members in open agencies. We are now moving forward with every effort to raise money for Vice President Harris ‘ plan in order to ensure that there is a very high turnout for her from members of our community, according to Chintan Patel, senior director of Impact, a former campaign and social administrator who joined the group earlier this year.
” We are working hard to mobilise aid for Harris in the battleground states of Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania, which have a large Indian diaspora people. We believe that the presence of Indian Americans in these claims may influence the results of the November presidential election, according to Patel, who is based in Virginia. In some American states, the immigrant community is the fastest-growing and is regarded as becoming more and more prominent in American politics.
In addition to phone banking, writing and distributing letters to voters, sharing reports and social media posts with virtual systems, and canvassing in person for support among community members, Impact is involved in some of the activities that it is involved in in support of Harris. These include mobile banks to engage in one-on-one conversations with South Asian voters who live in the swing state of Michigan. The company, which has endorsed Harris for President, has even launched a site as a one-stop-hub for the North Eastern American public to help her.
Members of the community are showing signs of support for the VP, and there is palpable strength. We signed off 1000 individuals in just one week”, Patel, who has over 15 years of experience in community organising and social activities and worked at End Citizens United/Let America Vote, as vice chairman of democratic affairs, said. In his last assignment, he directed social strategy across national and non-federal tribes, helping get over 350 activities and cultivating connections with community partners.
Indian American Impact, which has endorsed and supported 164 individuals across the US, contributing to the rise of Indian and South Asian American picture in politics, is furthermore reaching out to many of the elected members and officials, from the neighborhood, at all ranges, for help. We support strong candidates from the neighborhood who share our values. We are now reaching out to them to support Harris’s campaign”, Patel said.
Additionally, the organization is obtaining funds from Indian Americas for the campaign. ” Hyper support is very strong among South Asians on the ground. Fundraising is a crucial component of the campaign, which involves a wide range of community members joining in at the grassroots. There are many untapped donors who want to show their support and participate in the campaign, he said.
