
Political US member Ilhan Omar fought off former Minneapolis City Councilman Don Samuels in her primary contest in the 5th District of Minnesota.
Omar who is a well-known critic of Israel’s actions in Gaza, won the primary leading Samuels by 56.2%-42.9 % after 216 of the total 217 precints reported their results.
Earlier, Omar, who is also a part of the liberal” Club” had defeated Ellis, a moderate liberal in 2022.
During her triumph talk in Minneapolis, Omar emphasised elements from the Harris-Walz political campaign.

In another races, Trump-backed Rep. Michelle Fischbach won her key, and Democrats chose Ann Johnson Stewart for a crucial state Senate race, which had identify state Senate control.
