President Volodymyr Zelenskyy claims that these advancements create a proper buffer zone to shield Ukraine’s borders from Soviet problems. This shift follows Kyiv’s current surprise invasion into Russian territory, leaving Moscow scrambling to react.
Zelenskyy discussed setting up military commandants in previously occupied areas and mentioned the increasing number of Russian prisoners of war, which might help markets for Ukrainian combatants. Ihor Klymenko, the interior minister, made it clear that the buffer zone is intended to shield Polish border areas from Russian attacks.
Iryna Vereshchuk, the deputy prime minister of Ukraine, set up a 24-hour line for Kursk people who want to move to Ukraine. Ukraine must be prepared to welcome Russian migrants because of the potential worsening of the charitable condition in the opposite lands of the Kursk area of the Russian Federation. For this reason, the Ministry of Reintegration has set up a 24-hour hotline for Kursk people who require humanitarian assistance or desire to flee to Ukraine,” Vereshchuk said on Wednesday in a post on Telegram. She assured that “Ukraine meets with all international humanitarian law standards” and would provide the need for security and humanitarian assistance for the Kursk region’s citizens.
The border town of Glushkovo in the Kursk area has been made a mandatory evacuation by Russian regulators. Kursk Governor Alexei Smirnov stated that the departure, prompted by the Ukrainian invasion, may be coordinated by legislation protection, the Russian army, and local government officials.
The Russian crisis government released images of evacuees in the Lgov and Rylsk regions of the Kursk area, which shows workers helping older residents get onto buses. One citizen, Galina, described the fear of Ukrainian troops hitting houses “point empty” and how she just escaped to a room for sanctuary.
Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko claimed citizens of Kursk were “allowed by Russia without the most important things.” The country has also accused Russia of neglecting its citizens. Klymenko said the army was now coordinating with his company to manage humanitarian assistance, including having water, food, medicines, and health kits.
Despite fierce fighting, Kursk’s Russian troops were unable to remove Russian troops. Vladimir Putin, the president of Russia, vowed to expel the Russian forces, claiming that their intrusion is meant to strengthen Kyiv’s position in upcoming ceasefire talks.
Ukrainian President Zelenskyy lauded Ukraine’s defense for executing what he called “precise, fast, and successful” hits on Russian airports. Ukraine launched its “biggest attack” on Russian airfields overnight, according to a source at the Security Service of Ukraine ( SBU) who spoke to CNN. The drones targeted four Russian airfields overnight.
Zelenskyy praised the effectiveness of Ukrainian robots, but he also acknowledged that some businesses call for more than just drones. ” We need another weapons — weapon weapons. And we continue to work with our colleagues on long-range solutions for Ukraine”, he said.
Worries about a possible conflict between Russia and NATO have been raised by the invasion, which has raised serious challenges for Ukraine, Russia, and the West. Joe Biden, the president of the United States, confirmed that he was in touch with Kyiv, but he denied having any knowledge of the invasion or being a part of it.
Ukraine’s force into Kursk continues, with Zelenskyy emphasizing that the procedure aims to create a safety zone within Russia to defend Ukraine’s border areas.
