Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has reportedly found a buyer for his last remaining residential property, a historic estate in Hillsborough, California. The property, listed for nearly $32 million, went under contract over the weekend, as noted by the Multiple Listing Service. The final sale price and the buyer’s identity remain undisclosed, pending the transaction’s completion.
The 16 000-square-foot mansion, which is one of Silicon Valley’s largest items, was initially listed by Musk in June after he announced on Twitter that he intended to sell his final remaining home. Musk claimed that the property should be given to” a large family who will reside that” on Twitter. Initially listed for$ 37.5 million, the price was reduced by$ 5.5 million in October to$ 31.99 million, according to Mansion Global.
Known as Guignécourt, the castle sits on 47 hectares and provides views of the San Francisco Bay and capital skyline. The house, built in 1912 by European gentleman Count Christian de Guigné, capabilities seven bedrooms and nine and a half rooms. The list describes royal living spaces, including a life area, a library with leather walls and a fireplace, a gourmet kitchen, and dining and music areas that can be combined for entertaining.
Significant scientific advancements have been made to the 100-year-old residence. As listed by agents Mary and Brent Gullixson of Compass, the house includes “fiber optic wire under the street, a high-end safety system, an indoor sound system, and restoration to some of-the-era features”. As Mansion Global reported, the officials declined to comment on the pending purchase.
The property also boasts considerable landscaped grounds with a pond, a lake and palace, hiking trails, a three-car car, and an eight-car carport. Musk purchased Guignécourt in 2017 for$ 23.4 million through Gatsby LLC, linked to Excession, an object associated with his home business. The property had once been listed for$ 100 million before Musk’s purchase, according to Mansion Global.
In recent years, Musk has been focusing on what he refers to as “multiplanetary” career. Musk’s members did not respond to requests for comment right away.
