Harris outshines Biden at first rally since 2024 swap

LARGO, Maryland — President Joe Biden assumed the uncomfortable role of ceding the light to Vice President Kamala Harris at their first public occasion since turning over the top of the 2024 Democratic solution.

For the occasion, which was a White House party basically used as a Harris plan march, supporters poured in droves to Prince George’s Community College just outside of Washington, D.C.

The vice president is treading a fine line, keeping Biden at bay so she does n’t let him ruin her rising popularity while still trying to take credit for the administration’s accomplishments, such as the Medicare drug pricing provisions included in the Inflation Reduction Act.

On Wednesday, August 15, 2024, President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris made their first appearance together since the president’s reelection campaign ended in Maryland’s Prince George’s County Community College to talk about how they are working to reduce prescription drug prices. ( Graeme Jennings / Washington Examiner )

It was originally vague who would speak first when the pair took to the stage up to demonstrate their solidarity. Harris ultimately seized the opportunity to talk from the national cover.

” We believe seriously that every top in our society should be able to sit with protection, security, and dignity”, she said. No older may have to choose between filling their dosage or paying their book in the United States of America.

” My full career, I have worked to keep bad actors guilty, and lower the cost of prescribed medicines”, Harris added. The Inflation Reduction Act, which gave rise to the discussions, was a tiebreaking vote, the vice chairman said.

Biden joked that he served in the Senate for 270 times and that he looked 40 before claiming that” for the longest day I was too damned young because I was only about 29 when I was elected.” Then I’m too damned older”.

The president next continued talking, going over many of his well-known details for a long time, making attendees start to feel agitated and staring tenderly at the exits. The audience was probably most excited for an earlier speech, Gov. Wes Moore (D-MD), who at 45 is drawing sensation for a White House work of his own, and also chanted “48” at him after he teed up Biden and Harris and leaders 46 and 47, both.

The obvious differences between Democratic voters ‘ passion for the president and vice president were more examined by Thursday’s function.

Near the end of Biden’s speech, visitors began making their way to the escapes, which caused a traffic jelly outside the field house.

The president and vice president have only held a limited number of meetings up this season, either directly or through the campaign trail, and the march on Thursday had a significantly more celebratory environment than those of the previous ones.

Their most recent march in the greater Washington, D. C., place came back in January. The pregnancy rights-focused function, held at a George Mason University dish service, made headlines due to the organized group of pro-Gaza protesters who frequently interrupted Biden’s remarks.

In Philadelphia in May, participants at the release of a new Trump campaign dark voter referral program reportedly occupied about one-third of the higher school gymnasium.

Thursday’s march, on the other hand, saw Novak Field House almost filled to capacity two hours ahead of the program’s scheduled stop, with a series of waiting attendees however wrapped around the adjoining building. &nbsp,

In the meantime, insiders chanted encouraging slogans and waved while waiting on Biden and Harris.

In a speech on Thursday, Biden criticized Republican lawmakers for casting the tiebreaking vote against the Inflation Reduction Act and especially praised Harris for it. He pretended to ignore Trump’s brand, calling him” Donald Dump”.

As a legislator in 1973, the president reportedly voted to allow the government to discuss drug prices, but much more praise was received for his follow-line.

” I’ve got an amazing partner in the progress we’ve made”, Biden said of Harris. ” She you make one hell of a senator”.

Supporters appeared more eager to show their support for the evil leader than to celebrate a success of the current administration despite the event’s medical focus. &nbsp,

The&nbsp, Washington Examiner&nbsp, spoke with several people in attendance who were not informed of&nbsp, the show’s emphasis and had not heard about Biden’s latest win on medicine costs.

Harris has soared up both federal and match elections since taking over the election from Biden in July. &nbsp,

Before exiting the contest, Biden trailed original President Donald Trump by more than 3 percentage points in the&nbsp, RealClearPolitics&nbsp, polling normal. Harris has now resurrected that gap and is in command of the previous president.

However, &nbsp, according to the nonpartisan&nbsp, Cook Political Report, Harris leads her opposition in Arizona, Michigan, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. Trump also maintains a 3-point benefits in Nevada, and they are tied in Georgia.
