Matthew Perry’s personal assistant, two physicians and several others have been charged with providing the morphine that caused the death of Perry, the” Friends” sun, in Oct, the government said on Thursday.
In a judge filing in California, prosecutors claimed Perry’s aide and an acquaintance had collaborated with a drug dealer and two doctors to collect thousands of dollars worth of morphine for him in the days leading up to his death. The associate, Kenneth Iwamasa, was the one who discovered Perry floating face down in a hot tub at his Los Angeles home on October 28. In a Dec. examination report, the county medical examiner’s office claimed Perry had died from “acute effects of morphine.”
Jasveen Sangha, who prosecutors said was known as” the Ketamine Queen”, and Salvador Plasencia, known as” Dr. P”, have been arrested. According to the indictment, Sangha maintained a” hoard home” in North Hollywood, and Plasencia, a doctor at an urgent care facility, was one of those who worked to get the morphine to Perry despite knowing he had a history of drug abuse. Two of the defendants, including Iwamasa, have pleaded guilty to charges previously, and a second man has agreed to plead guilty.
