Washington, DC, according to a recent poll conducted by Clever, is the least attractive city in the country. Higher living costs and rising crime rates were identified as major factors in the survey’s June findings, which included 1, 000 respondents.
According to the study, about 33 per share of respondents listed Washington, DC among their best five least desired cities. Some people have criticized Mayor Muriel Bowser for handling the murder position, claiming that it has harmed their quality of life. Despite these issues, the city is regarded as being favorable to working parents because of its robust function and health infrastructure, which includes rural work opportunities and a strong network of pediatricians.
Additionally, according to the poll, another significant cities like New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco were deemed less appealing, mostly because of their pricey housing industry. For instance, Los Angeles was noted for requiring an annual income of$ 162, 000 to afford a home.
In comparison, Tampa, Florida, emerged as the most attractive city for 2024. With its warm climate, low crime rates, and cheap housing, Tampa was chosen by 23 per cent of respondents as one of their best five desired places.
Despite the study’s wider findings, 73 percent of Americans are glad with their current level of living, but there is significant discontent in different areas. 59 % of respondents said they were unhappy with their cities, and 43 % said they were embarrassed by their state.
States like California, which was previously considered the” Golden State”, have seen a decline in popularity.
