At a colorful multimedia event this year at its headquarters in Mountain View, California, Google announced four fresh Pixel devices. However, the most significant item that was unveiled at the Made By Google function was not the technology itself, but rather the entire set of conceptual AI equipment.

The most notable are some AI-powered camera features that make it possible for Pixel owners to quickly modify a photo by changing the day and adding things that were n’t actually it. It’s an investigation of our limitations —how eloquently technology can bring additional realities to life, and how much of the computer-generated surroundings we can bear.

Julian Chokkattu, WIRED top reviews writer, joins the present this week on Gadget Lab to discuss Google’s cutting-edge new photo techniques. We also talk about Gemini Live, the latest incarnation of the bank’s AI-powered words robot. Eventually, we ask the un-askable: Is Google Assistant suddenly dying, or just banished to Google’s apartment?
