As a result of “excruciating situation,” customers on an American Airlines flight were called refugees and were stranded in the Bahamas for 24 hours. Due to Hurricane Debby, the trip from San Juan, Puerto Rico, to Miami, Florida, which had around 90 passengers on board, was detoured to the Bahamas, where there was no accommodation for the customers. As a customer on Flight 2421, Dips Henriquez claimed they were called illegal immigrants at the island country despite the fact that they had nothing to do with the situation.
” They made a point to mention that, like,’ y’all are illegal immigrants here right now, y’all do n’t have much say in anything.’ Even though we did n’t choose to be there”, Dimas Henriquez, passenger of American Airlines flight 2421, told Fox News Digital. ” We were actually locked in… It was not possible to left”, he continued. People were on the ground covered in corners and things, like quite spread out, even though I was sober the entire time. It looked like we were camping inside”.
The people ‘ videos of the Bahamas went viral on TikTok because they found it amazing that they had to spend the night somewhere else. In his film, a TikToker claimed the pilot made the announcement that they needed to get in a different country, the Bahamas. The captain also asked who have their documents.
‘ We land the plane, we’re sitting on the tarmac for two hours, we got off the plane, turns out the pilot ca n’t do overtime or something so we had to get off the plane,’ the TikToker with the handle @griptape_dimas said.
‘ We got off here, we ca n’t leave the terminal cos we’re not allowed to be here, we are illegally here and not only ca n’t we leave the airport, we ca n’t leave the terminal, we ca n’t do anything.’
