Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have arrived in Colombia, receiving a nice welcome on Thursday, August 15. During their explore, they met with Vice President Francia Marquez and her father, Rafael Yerney Pinillo.
This vacation includes several activities with local businesses, youth groups, and cooperation in delegations to address mental health and online security. Their attend comes inainte of the November 11th World Ministerial Conference on the Elimination of Violence Against Children.
    Meeting with Colombia’s Vice President
Vice President Francia Marquez and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex met at around 9 am native time to begin their attend. Marquez and Marquez had formerly disclosed their plans to travel to Colombia on August 1 and were the first black person to do so.
After the formalities, they enjoyed a 30-minute tea and coffee session with the vice president and her husband while exchanging gifts and eating traditional Colombian cheese bread ( pan de bono ). During this appointment, Marquez expressed her admiration for Princess Diana. Additionally, discussions centered on common principles regarding mental wellness and a modern future.
Prince Harry and Meghan’s activities in Colombia
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle continued to participate in various activities throughout their visit after this polite end. They were scheduled to communicate with several neighborhood organizations and youth organizations on August 15 about their work with the Archewell Foundation.
Additionally, they attended a local school’s Insight Session to draw attention to the importance of online safety and emotional health.
involvement in a conference on online safety
Following the university celebration, they participated in a mountain collecting alongside experts, activists, and group members. This mountain has the same intentions as the Archewell Foundation’s objectives of encouraging more optimistic online environments.
    Continued activities in mental well-being
On Friday, August 16, the partners will maintain their agreements in the Brazilian capital. They will work with students to address the importance of personal well-being in training, which is a pressing concern now more than ever.
Their plan includes a dinner hosted by Vice President Marquez for which they will attend along with Colombia’s Invictus Games rivals.
Colombia was the first North British country to visit the Invictus Games, a sporting event launched by Prince Harry in 2014 for wounded, injured, and ill service soldiers.
    Trips to Cali and Cartagena
Cartagena and Cali will also be visited by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle during their travels to Colombia. These trips are in line with the upcoming World Ministerial Conference on the Elimination of Violence Against Children, which is scheduled for November.
Focus on a global health platform
The importance of this worldwide meeting, which aims to create healthy physical and virtual spaces, was originally mentioned by Vice President Marquez.
She stated that” this event will provide a global framework for creating safe physical and virtual spots,” addressing problems like bullying, online exploitation, and the effects of these risks on mental health.
    Following trip abroad since 2020
Their next formal international trip to Colombia comes after they depart from their positions as working members of the royal family and relocate to California, USA in 2020. It comes in the wake of their latest trip to Nigeria in May, and it coincides with the withdrawal of their chief of staff Josh Kettler, who left after three weeks in the position.
    Departure of chief of staff
According to The New York Post, Kettler was hired “on a trial basis” and that “both sides agreed it was n’t the right fit” for him to leave the Sussex payroll.
International campaigning for the safety and health of people with mental illness
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex ‘ appearance underscores the international significance of their campaigning for mental heath, online safety, and well-being in education as they engage in their several commitments during this visit.
