According to the Trump campaign, a helicopter carrying Republican vice presidential nominee JD Vance was forced to make an emergency landing in Milwaukee on Friday, according to a report from US Today.
The Boeing 737, which had just left Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport, had to depart immediately after the captain discovered a concern with the door cover.
Campaign spokesman Taylor Van Kirk confirmed that the problem was quickly resolved on the ground, and the plane after resumed its journey to Cincinnati. Van Kirk assured that the issue was resolved quickly by noting that” the pilot advised there was a malfunction with the entry seal.”
Vance, the running partner of former president Donald Trump and a legislator from Ohio, was in Milwaukee for a campaign event. He was accompanied by his wife, Usha, their German Shepherd, and various writers covering the plan.
This incident comes after a Trump campaign campaign’s aircraft had to deflect due to a mechanical problem last week over Montana.
