At the Democratic National Convention in Chicago on Monday, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez strongly criticized past president Donald Trump while supporting Vice President Kamala Harris.
Cortez emphasized the Democratic Party’s growing cohesion and focused on economic policies during her talk. Harris ‘ support for the working class and Trump’s alleged preference for the wealthy and large corporations contrasted in her speech.
Ocasio-Cortez criticised Trump’s financial methods, accusing him of catering to the demands of the wealthy more than ordinary Americans.
Ocasio-Cortez said,” We know Trump would sell this country for a dollar if that meant stuffing his own pockets and greasing his Wall Street friends ‘ palms.”
She further questioned Trump’s loyalty, by focusing on the striking difference between him and Harris.
She said,” I’m sick of hearing about how a two-bit union buster views himself as more of a soldier than the lady who fights every day to raise working people out from under the shoes of greed that is travestying our way of life,” adding,” I’m tired of hearing about how a two-bit federation buster views himself.”
Ocasio-Cortez also discussed the diverse viewpoints on the country, claiming that Trump’s policies were in direct opposition to the requirements of the working group.
” The truth is, Don, you may love this country if you only struggle for the rich and great company”, she said, underscoring Harris’s determination to uplifting working Americans.
Her conversation praised Harris’s commitment to addressing the challenges faced by regular Americans, drawing analogies between her personal and Harris’s working-class background. Ocasio-Cortez hailed Harris’s understanding of the challenges faced by many in the state.
To appreciate this nation means fighting for its citizens, including all people who work for it, including regular Americans like waiters and factory workers and fast-food cashiers who work in some of the most difficult jobs around, according to Ocasio-Cortez.
In response to Trump’s control, the conversation urged members of the Democratic Party to unite behind Harris and Biden. The group’s position was to advocate for a state that prioritizes the needs of the many over the needs of the few, according to Ocasio-Cortez’s noted remarks and support of Harris.
