UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres stated that the UN completely supports efforts to create an “inclusive and rich democracy” and put an emphasis on the protection of minority areas, noting that Bangladesh is at a critical moment in its record.
In a letter to interim govt. chief adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus, he wrote,” It is my hope that your govt. will take an inclusive approach, including by taking into account the voices of the youths and women, as well as that of minority and indigenous communities.”
Guterres said he counts on the time government to ensure the complete safety of all people and, in particular, of immigrants. The UN main stated that the organization is still committed to working with the Yunus-led time state and offering support where necessary, including through the native coordinator and the UN country team. ” I applaud efforts to restore calm and to organize legislative elections in Bangladesh,” Guterres said.
” I also highly need you to ensure the well-being of Rohingya migrants, mainly in view of the deteriorating condition in Myanmar”, he added.
