Jack Schlossberg, the grandson of former President John F Kennedy, addressed the Democratic National Convention ( DNC ) today, drawing a parallel between Vice President Kamala Harris and his grandfather.
Schlossberg, a Democrat member for New York, has gradually become a popular number within the Democratic Party, continuing his mother’s tradition of social engagement.
Schlossberg, 31, is the son of Caroline Kennedy, the US Ambassador to Australia, and has been extremely engaged in social circles, despite saying that he has no immediate plans to run for office, reported the Hill.
In his statement, Schlossberg highlighted the relationship between Harris and Kennedy, saying,” Like President Kennedy, Vice President Harris has dedicated her life to public service. She thinks in America like my father did, that we do things because they’re tough rather than because they’re quick.
He cited Kennedy’s classic 1962 talk on the American space program, arguing that the principles his grandfather fought for still apply today.
” The light has been passed to a new era of president who shares my father’s energy, perspective, and enthusiasm for our future—that chief is Vice President Kamala Harris”, Schlossberg said, calling Kennedy his “hero”.
Schlossberg, who has gained a significant following on social media with his political and comedic sketches, is anticipated to take a young view to the agreement. He previously told Vogue earlier this year that as he got older, I’ve grown more committed to the formal obligations that come with being a member of my family. I’ve met a lot of politicians and have grown to be more enthusiastic about our potential because of that work.
Schlossberg, a Yale University student with a past degree, continued his education at Harvard, earning both a JD and an MBA. He passed the New York State Bar Exam next year, adding legitimate credentials to his growing investment, following numerous family ‘ paths.
This summer, Schlossberg took on the role of social journalist for Vogue, where he is covering the 2024 election.
His rising popularity in the social world was also highlighted last year when he officially supported President Joe Biden’s election battle and publicly criticized his aunt Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s independent presidential campaign. Following Biden’s removal, Schlossberg has since thrown his aid behind Vice President Kamala Harris, as reported by Business Insider.
As the youngest of Kennedy’s three kids, Schlossberg continues to defend the reputation of one of America’s most iconic social people, contributing to the ongoing tale of the Kennedy dynasty in current elections.
