A few refused to leave an American Airlines flight after the team raised worries about a man’s bruised head in an incident at a Florida airport on Tuesday, leading to arrests.
Eugenio Ernesto Hernandez-Garnier, 27, and his family, Yusleydis Blanca Loyola, 32, were forcefully removed from their Las Vegas-bound journey at Miami International Airport, reported the New York Post. According to a life TikTok video posted by Loyola, Hernandez-Garnier boarded the plane with a clearly bloody nose and a tape that appeared to be falling out.
Crew members immediately requested Hernandez-Garnier clean the blood and remove his gauze, which he claimed he did not possess. They soon made the decision to ask him to abandon the aircraft, citing concerns about health and pollution. When Hernandez-Garnier and Loyola refused to comply, citing several factors, the staff called for police involvement.
When authorities arrived and attempted to escort the few off the airplane, the circumstance escalated. The pair continued to resist, leading to their arrest, reported the New York Post. On TikTok, Loyola was yelling in Spanish as she was being explained that the blood was coming from current operation. However, other people, who were also asked to deplane due to the health threat, cheered as the pair was escorted ahead.
Hernandez-Garnier and Loyola were both initially taken to the hospital for examination before being booked at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. Loyola’s mugshot shows her in a hospital dress, while Hernandez-Garnier’s shows heart on his mind. The pair is accused of trespassing after receiving a alert and resisting an officer without using force.
