The Left Pounces on Fake News That Trump Called Netanyahu to Delay Ceasefire

A report from a number of media outlets claims that Donald Trump called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on August 14 to talk about the continued peace agreements with Hamas.

The tale was allegedly confirmed by” two unidentified U.S. options who were briefed on the call,” according to Forbes. The host Judy Woodruff claimed in” PBS Newshour” that” the monitoring is that former president Trump is on the telephone with the prime minister of Israel, urging him not to cut a deal right now, because it’s believed that had help” Kamala Harris.

If Trump had made the call, he would have been in violation of the Logan Act, which “prohibits illicit personal people from negotiating with foreign governments on behalf of the U. S., according&nbsp, to Newsweek.

” Large crime! “screeched social critic and a part of the Democratic National Committee,” said David Atkins. Actor Steven Pasquale said it was” very balls-to-the-wall crime. ” The Lincoln Project wrote”, There’s absolutely no line he wo n’t cross.”

Trump and Netanyahu both refute the claim that the phone actually occurred. &nbsp,

Forbes covered the false visit on August 15 in a report. Netanyahu’s business soon denied it. Finally, Woodruff repeated the rest on a telecast on Monday. On Wednesday, Woodruff was forced to make a degrading surrender.

” In the live TV moment, I repeated the story because I had n’t seen later reports that both sides denied it,” her statement read. This was a miscalculation, and I apologize for it.”

Netanyahu has never discussed stifling a peace deal, according to the Trump campaign.

The president has only said to the perfect secretary,” to get the war over with,” according to Steven Cheung, the Trump campaign communications director. Any other claim is false.

    New York Times:

A spokeswoman for Mr. Netanyahu, Omer Dostri, said that information that Mr. Trump had asked the excellent minister to rush on a bargain were a” full rest.”

Forbes reported last week that the two had discussed the cease-fire in a telephone call on Aug. 24, citing two unknown” U. S. options. One of the sources claimed that Mr. Trump’s visit was intended to motivate Mr. Netanyahu to accept the deal. A review about the Axios profile was published by Reuters.

A source close to Mr. Trump even refuted claims that the two gentlemen had spoken since the meeting on July 26.

If the account rings a bell, you might consider the renowned” October Surprise, “where Democrats accused Republicans near to Ronald Reagan, including George Bush and former Texas Governor John Connally, of being in touch with Iranian members, telling them not to release the captives before the vote.

The issue with this scenario is that the Iranian government only existed theoretically. It was literally riven by several factions with no one in charge. It was absurd to imagine that only one person could represent the Iranian government at the time.

That’s exactly what a task force created in 1992 by Democrats found after a year-long investigation.

    Congressional Quarterly Almanac:

According to the thesis, Reagan campaign manager William J. Casey and other officials allegedly negotiated a covert arms deal with Iranian officials to stifle Tehran until after Election Day in order to get rid of the 52 American hostages.

There is no conclusive evidence to support any attempt by the Reagan presidential campaign — or those connected to the campaign — to delay the release of the American hostages in Iran, according to the 13-member task force’s report.

According to the report, no one associated with the Reagan-Bush campaign had communication with Iranian government officials because there was “wholly insufficient evidence.”

The 968-page report was likely to be the last word from Congress regarding the long-standing allegations, which had hampered two Republican presidents. It went even further than an earlier Senate report, released in November, in spiking the allegations,” concluded CQ.

The task force suggested that perjury charges be brought against several witnesses. However, in 2023, the New York Times published an article about Ben Barnes, the serial fabricator whose storytelling precipitated the formation of the task force.

Some lies never die. And when it involves a Republican presidential candidate possibly committing a crime, we can anticipate that this lie will live on forever.
