Michelle Obama, the former first lady, praised Gus Walz, the brother of vice president member Tim Walz, whose heartfelt speech at the Democratic National Convention attracted the attention of many people. After political critic Ann Coulter called him “weird,” she even took a stand against the abuse he faced.
Appreciating Walz’s poignant response, Michelle Obama said,” I was touched to discover Gus Walz’s pleasure when his father @Tim_Walz took the stage next day. Proud for showing us all what true love entails, Gus.
” This become a society that embraces this kind of heat and risk, instead of making enjoyment or mocking it. We could all use some of Gus’s case in our own life”, Obama added in her article.
After being nominated for the Democratic vice presidential nomination, Gus Walz, who has been identified as having a visual understanding disorder, ADHD, and an anxiety disorder, received a lot of media attention for his personal show of confidence in his parents.
During Minnesota government Tim Walz’s presentation address on Wednesday evening, as he accepted the Democratic Party’s election for vice president, he turned to his home and said,” Desire, Gus and Gwen, you are my whole world, and I love you”.
In reply, his brother Gus stood up, clapping with unrestrained emotion and delight, repeating,” That’s my father”! capturing what some claim was the convention’s most psychologically captivating moment.
From’ crazy’ to ‘ ridiculous crying son’: Republicans belittle Walz
While most viewers and political pundits found the moment heartwarming, right-wing media pundit Ann Coulter shared a news article about the teen’s reaction on X, captioning the post:” Talk about weird …” She later deleted the tweet following widespread criticism.
Mike Crispi, a Trump supporter, also made fun of Walz’s” ridiculous crying son” on X and said,” You raised your children to be a puffy alpha men. Thanks”. He also, later deleted his post after reaction.
