Dr. Anthony Fauci is then recovering at home after testing positive for the West Nile virus. He spent six days in the hospital, and he is currently on the verge of complete recovery. West Nile virus is a mosquito-borne disease causing fever, body fatigue, vomiting and rash.
Fauci’s management of the coronavirus epidemic earned him a reputation. In a new book ‘ On Call’, the 83-year-old epidemiologist has recorded his fight with then-president Donald Trump during the outbreak of the crisis.
Fauci retired in 2022 but remained the face of the region’s Covid-19 struggle and as a result drew intense criticism from the Republicans. After leaving state, Fauci joined the faculty at Georgetown University, where he serves as a distinguished teacher in the School of Medicine. He even holds a place in the college’s McCourt School of Public Policy.
    What is West Nile virus?
It is a common disease disease during August-September. The most severe kind of West Nile virus, which is transmitted through the bite of infected flies, affects about 1, 000 Americans annually. Another 1, 500, on regular, are diagnosed after developing symptoms, although authorities estimate that as many of 80 % of infection in the US are not identified, CNN reported. In approximately 1 in 150 instances, the virus invades the brain and nervous system, which can lead to mental swelling, brain injury or fatality. In the US, annually, about 100 folks die from West Nile infection.
There is neither a vaccine nor a certain remedy for West Nile.
