According to their Amaq news site, the Islamic State group claimed responsibility for a knife attack that occurred on Saturday ( local time ) in Solingen, Germany, killing three people and injuring eight others. The group claimed that the intruder, who they called a” man of the Islamic State,” targeted Catholics in retaliation for the way that Muslims were treated in Palestine and different parts of the world.
According to the German news agency DPA, police raids were carried out on an asylum seekers’ house in Solingen’s city center, including the rollout of special causes. According to the ideas they had received, a police spokeswoman confirmed that they were carrying out authorities operations.
The victims of the attack were two men, aged 67 and 56, and a 56-year-old girl. According to police, the attacker had purposefully targeted the patients ‘ mouths.
A 15-year-old son was detained early on Saturday on fear of knowing about the planned invasion and failing to report it to authorities, but he was not the victim.
The state of North Rhine Westphalia is currently the subject of requests and investigations, according to Thorsten Fleiss, the director of activities, on Friday evening. He acknowledged the difficulty of putting together the most recent information and see testimony to create a complete picture of the event. Fleiss also mentioned that many knives had been discovered, but he was unable to say whether any of them had been used by the attacker.
On Saturday night, German Interior Minister Nancy Faeser assured the state that it would do everything to help the city and its residents. Instead of the current 12 meters allowed, Faeser had recently suggested tightening the weapons laws to make it just acceptable to carry cutlery with a knife measuring up to 6 centimeters in people.
The attack took place during the” Festival of Diversity”, which was celebrating the city’s 650th anniversary. The event, which began on Friday and was scheduled to work through Sunday, featured some rounds offering live music, cabaret, and stunts. The rest of the event was later canceled because the attack took place in front of one of the levels.
