Washington: The zeal of a stirring convention in Chicago, which Democrats hoped would spur Kamala Harris on their careers, was hampered by the resignation of independent member Robert Kennedy Jr., the scion of the well-known political dynasty, on Friday, when he abruptly suspended his campaign and threw his support behind Donald Trump.
The almost 15 % aid for Kennedy at his maximum had dropped to 5 % and was plummeting after Kamala Harris became the Democrat nomination, making him known as a third party rebel who attracted citizens disgruntled with both Biden and Trump at the beginning of the competition. The judge and experts are still to decide whether he can turn his lone supporters away from Trump or whether they will join the Kamala bandwagon.
Although there is n’t yet enough reliable data, one poll found that Harris ‘ lead over Trump only marginally decreased ( from 3 to 3 before Kennedy’s removal ) to 3. 1 after all. Nevertheless, the Trump campaign thinks even a slight change in a closely-fought battleground state may get them the election.
Liberals and his own siblings viewed Kennedy as betraying his social reputation, and on Friday evening, Kennedy joined the former President at a rally in Arizona just days after he pulled out of the competition. Trump strategically reversed his course and welcomed him, saying he was a well-respected candidate who raised significant issues during his strategy. With his usual flourish, Trump had earlier called him a “radical quit” candidate.
Kennedy, 70, is the grandson of President John F. Kennedy and the son of his nephew, former attorney general and US senator Robert Kennedy, both of whom were assassinated in the 1960s. After years of working as an climate activist and lawyer, he caught the attention of citizens with his anti-vaccine campaign in the following years. Nearly all of his siblings and relatives are Democrats, and some even spoke at the DNC in Chicago earlier this month, praising Kamala Harris.
Kennedy, however, had a number of other indiscretions with the Democrat Party after being thwarted in his campaign for the party nomination, and he eventually veered away from Trump, yet having secret meetings with him that were leaked. His campaign began to unravel after a number of ridiculous statements, including claiming to have left a dying bear in Central Park and that a worm had eaten component of his brain.
He made an unsuccessful attempt to negotiate a government position in a potential Harris White House quickly before entering the MAGA station. Trump, on the other hand, has stated that he is open to the idea.
After surveys showed him sliding against Kamala after leading against Biden, the Harris station appears to be indifferent by the advancement. They see the novel alliance as a signal of Trump’s failure and despair.
