
Dhaka: Pupils of Dhaka University and officers of Bangladesh Ansar, a military supplementary power, clashed near the Secretariat here on Sunday evening, leaving some persons injured, reports AKM Moinuddin. The conflict started at 9 o’clock when Ansar officers blocked the Secretariat.
A representative from the home ministry’s Adviser had met with seven of their members. Students claimed that Ansar members had prevented the household director and other government officials from leaving the secretary. Despite the time government’s assurance that it would end the department’s “rest custom,” under which Ansars who have worked three consecutive years are sent on six months ‘ forced leave without pay, Ansar workers have refused to put an end to their opposition.
