Former US Secret Service Special Agent Dan Bongino responded to a question about the numerous Secret Service problems on the day of past president Donald Trump’s assassination attempt, saying that “layered stupidity always means purpose.”
” The important question is whether this was your run-of-the-mill stupidity” or whether this was” things darker and more devious”, Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., said in the community at The Heritage Foundation.
The conference was led by Reps. Cory Mills, R-Fla., and Eli Crane, R-Ariz., on Aug. 26 as part of their independent research. Exercises. Andy Biggs, R-Ariz., Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., and Chip Roy, R-Texas, joined Crane and Mills. The witnesses, Dan Bongino ( a former US Secret Service special agent ), Erik Prince ( a former US Navy SEAL officer ), and Ben Shaffer ( a Washington Regional SWAT operator ), responded to questions about the most recent assassination attempt by Donald Trump.  ,
Ben Shaffer revealed that the Secret Service turned down a number of tools offered to them in addition to meeting simple protective steps.
” The form of contacts would have been some type of encrypted rules enforcement-style radio”, said Shaffer. He explained that the Secret Service was given microphones to switch data between the on-site soldiers and the command centre, but they instead chose to use cell phones. There is typically an agent who is actually present to make quick decisions without there being any delay or danger of technical issues, but this was not the case on July 13.
Also, the Secret Service failed to accept a helicopter they were offered by local law enforcement, failed to show up to the dawn presentation, made no effort to gain access to the ceiling that was utilized by the gunman, and made no effort to research the nearby ocean tower, another possible risk.  ,
Do you think it’s possible to simply chalk up the stupidity of the Secret Service not attending the 9:00]briefing intended for planning purposes? Mills asked Bongino. Mills continued to question the Secret Service about a number of errors, including the fact that” the aircraft was flown and that the Secret Service turned down the request for the drone because they had serious communications issues,” that Trump was not removed from the stage,” that the perimeter did not include” the building used by Crooks, and that” they identified Crooks about an hour ahead of time.” ” Was it just stupidity”? Mills asked frequently.
” If you had just ended with your first speech and said,’ Well, we may have just screwed up the perimeter,’ you may even assign it to knowledge. ] But ] layered incompetence always means intent”, Bongino responded.  ,
When the original Secret Service specific agent described his time there as being” not a political business,” he said. … I never again, working for President Clinton, Bush, and Obama, had people even remotely expose social motive for any choice either. However, it appears that for the first time in American history, there is a Secret Service making decisions that may not be entirely political but may have a political tinge to them, according to the commentary directed at some of the agents in charge of the Donald Trump detail.
Due to the security failures of the Secret Service at Trump’s rally on July 13, any terrorist organization would have successfully achieved Trump’s assassination, according to Erik Prince.  ,
” Thank God that 20-year-old … aimed at a headshot at President Trump, because if he’d aimed center mass, President Trump would probably be dead. … A Hezbollah team, or ISIS, or you name the terrorist organization that actually knows what they’re doing, would have been successful that day”, said Prince.  ,  ,
The House Republicans ‘ independent investigation into the assassination attempt took place at this first of several forums. Mills argued that we need to increase accountability and transparency for the American people.
