
As software companies cut hundreds of positions in the most recent square of staffing reductions, there have been extensive wave waves of job cuts at Cisco Systems, which will cause dozens more to be cut in San Jose.

— AppLovin, a software firm, decided to jettison 61 jobs in Palo Alto. These reductions occurred Aug. 15.
— Fastly, an Internet and software company, eliminated 52 jobs in San Francisco. On October 11, those cuts are scheduled to occur.
Penumbra, a biotech firm, is cutting 71 jobs in Alameda. These reductions are anticipated for November 1.
Beginning in the first half of 2022, tech companies will start a significant staffing reduction.
