A bus carrying a school bus crashed early on Wednesday, leaving many children with minor wounds, according to officials.
DeKalb County Fire Rescue Department , got the phone about the fall around  , 8: 30 a. m.  , in the 4200 wall of , River Road, near , County Line-Ellenwood Library, according to Capt.  , Jaeson Daniels. The collision likewise involved an oncoming car.
Approximately 19 of the 25 kids on the vehicle reported minor accidents and were transported to local hospitals, according to , Raymond Stanley, executive producer for travel and ships in , DeKalb County. The bus driver was even transported to a doctor, but she did not include serious injury.
After the incident, the vehicle hit a mast and then became wedged on its part in a trench, officials said. The vehicle was heading to , Salem Middle School, located about five miles from the fall.
Jaylisa Bradley’s 11-year-old girl, who was transported to the hospital to get treated for her wounds, called her mother just after the accident. According to Bradley, her daughter struck her mind on the screen and back of the seat, causing her to have a dark eye and have swelling on her face.
” I just really hope everybody is safe and this type of stuff does n’t happen again”, Bradley said.
All families were made conscious of the accident, Stanley said. Some families, like Bradley, arrived on the scene after they received calls from their children, he added.
” I just really hope everybody’s Okay, specifically all the boys”, Bradley said. ” Even if they’re not OK actually, just with them being traumatized from this type of condition, not knowing how to prepare yourself, not knowing how to plan for this type of stuff”.
When her child called, Bradley claimed that she could notice the kids screaming in the background as the bus driver tried to calm them down and keep them close to the vehicle. The bus driver is a former vehicle for the region, according to Stanley.
” Our first and foremost goals are to make sure that all learners are transported to class carefully every day,” Stanley said. ” Motorists go through rigorous training to get van drivers,” as well as annual examinations, according to the article.
One man in the car had a slight knee injury, according to Daniels.
No other information, including what led to the fall or if any fees are pending, have been released.
