In this ridiculously nearby presidential race, how about some positive reports for again? And squeeze me, choose because it has to do with ABC News, sponsor of the first Trump-Harris national debate — assuming it happens, of course.

Trump’s conversation shows have been hit or miss against Democrats. In 2016, he did quite well against Hillary Clinton, taking full advantage of her all-natural unlikability. But 2020 went less effectively.  ,
If I’m being honest, I’ve always wondered if Trump was n’t already suffering from COVID because of his performance in his first debate against Joe Biden, which is my job. That argument was held on Sept. 29 and Trump’s examination was announced on Oct. 2. His tone was off that day and so was his achievement. Biden earned a reputation as a harsh, contemptuous, and bad-mannered thinker but, instead of letting Biden enjoy the poor man that evening, Trump behaved like Biden often did.
It did n’t serve him well at all, and that’s why I breathed a sigh of relief when last June’s repeat debate night would see both candidate’s microphones muted when it was n’t their turn to speak. Trump might ring when he should n’t — he did a few times, but not loud enough for Biden’s microphone to pick him up well enough to be understandable, making him nearly impossible to hear.

Trump may have performed much better than he did during the terrible first conversation four years ago, even if Biden had been compos mentis that day. largely due to that subdued device rule.
But imagine my surprise when I saw this:
Only IN: ABC News *REJECTS* Kamala Harris ‘ Last Minute Request to Change Discussion File
Following weeks of discussion, ABC News turned down Vice President Kamala Harris ‘ demand for fully unmuted speakers during her September 10 discussion with former president Donald Trump. … photograph. twitter.com/hlJPLAUq6b

More:
Republicans saw this demand as an attempt to catch their participant in a trap.
The conversation will follow the same rules as Trump’s June 27 CNN argument against President Biden, according to a networking internet obtained by The New York Post.
Trump and Harris will be on stage with just a pen, a pad of paper, and a bottle of water allowed.
So Harris is n’t getting her wish to have prepared notes — ie, a cheat sheet — with her, either.
Do n’t worry, I’m not getting ahead of my skis on this one. Harris did n’t receive what she wanted on the cheat sheets and microphones, but she will still have Linsey Davis and” World News Tonight” host David Muir kicking her softballs at Trump while they hurl Nolan Ryan fastballs straight at him.

Did I use sports and skiing metaphors in a single sentence? Shame on me.
Regardless, the conversation is scheduled for Sept 10, and I may, of course, drunkblog the entire show. I have to wonder if Harris wo n’t find any new justifications to back out after ABC News curb-stomped her two significant rules changes.
