
Following the tragic death of a Punjabi person, 80, who was attacked in a garden in Leicester, five children have been detained on suspicion of murder.
At around 6.30pm on Sunday, Bhim Sen Kohli was walking his puppy near the entrance to Franklin Park in Braunstone Town, near Leicester when a group of young people really assaulted him. They left the area before the emergency services arrived.
Kohli was taken to a doctor on Monday nights because of the injuries sustained in the attack.
On suspicion of murder, officials have detained five juveniles: a boy and a female aged 14 and one son and two ladies aged 12 respectively.
The father of two foliage a woman, two children, Baul and Varinder, and a girl, Susan.
According to police resources, he had previously complained to the authorities about anti-social behavior involving young people in the area, but no action was taken.
Leicestershire authorities announced that it would submit a deliberate referral to the Independent Office of Police Conduct.
Deep Singh Kalia ( 70 ), who knew Kohli for over 30 years, told the Daily Telegraph:” He was such a lovely guy. It is a terrible shock. Both of our ancestors were from India’s Punjab. He loved his registration, and loved his dog, and his relatives. He once owned a stock that produced blouses and jumpers. I’m not sure why anyone would have wanted to harm him in a way this bad. He was a very nice man who “would n’t have done anything to provoke this.”
Harjinder, Kalia’s wife, added:” Bhim would n’t have harmed anyone”.
